Zone(s): Portugal ¦ Sector(s): Gaming Taxation
[23 June 2014, Tax-News.com] By Ulrika Lomas, Tax-News.com, Brussels: Portugal’s parliament will debate a draft law on the regulation and taxation of the online gaming industry before July 10, 2014. The bill seeks to liberalize online gambling and allow foreign operators to apply for licenses. The regime is expected to include a tax rate in the region of 15 to 20 percent. Portugal’s regulatory system for online gaming is likely to emulate the frameworks in place in neighbours Spain, France, and Italy.
