Markit/JMMA Flash Japan Manufacturing PMI™

[23 June 2014, Markit Economics] On 23 June, Markit Economics published the latest Markit/JMMA Flash Japan Manufacturing PMI™ which showed that growth returns with a rise in new orders and output in June.
- Flash Japan Manufacturing PMI™ at 51.1 (49.9 in May). Growth in activity for first time in three months.
- Flash Japan Manufacturing Output Index at 51.8 (48.9 in May). Rise in output for first time in three months.
Today sees the second public release of the Markit/JMMA Flash Japan Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index™ (PMI™). Published on a monthly basis approximately one week before final PMI data are released, this makes the PMI the earliest available indicator of manufacturing sector operating conditions in Japan. The estimate is typically based on approximately 85%–90% of total PMI survey responses each month and is designed to provide an accurate indication of final PMI data.
