[3 June 2014, Tax-News.com] By Jason Gorringe, Tax-News.com, London: The Director of Taxation at Chartered Accountants Ireland, Brian Keegan, has told a committee reviewing Ireland’s tax regime that there is no such thing as “international tax;” taxes are paid by companies to the sovereign governments that hold the taxing rights.
He said a clearly defined interaction of the Irish tax system with the tax regimes of the other countries is fundamental to international trade.
